The CHARLY Li-Ion Polarheat Light is a lightweight, sensitive and pliant battery-heated glove. It protects the hands temporarily even in severe cold, but is also not too warm in milder temperatures due to its less thick padding, which makes the Li-Ion Polarheat Light a particularly versatile glove.
When paragliding in summer, the heating only needs to be switched on at high altitudes. Also when ski touring, the hands often do not need extra heat during the ascent. Later, for skin removal and skiing down, the activated heating prevents them from undercooling. Other activities for which the Li-Ion Polarheat Light is particularly recommended are cycling, horseback riding or cross-country skiing.
The latest generation of our successful model has been completely redesigned and allows the optional use of even more powerful batteries (expected to be available from 09/26). These batteries can also be used in combination with the standard double batteries if required.
Important characteristics
- Due to their higher battery performance and the optimized placement of the heating wires, the battery-powered CHARLY gloves heat noticeably warmer than other heatable gloves.
- Upgradeable to twice the heating time: Since the double batteries are built particularly flat and their two cells are flexibly interconnected, it is possible to plug in an additional battery in the dedicated second pocket in the gauntlet without any loss of comfort. Thus, the heating time can be extended to up to 10 hours. Even longer heating times can be achieved with the new, larger 19.24 Wh batteries (expected to be available from 09/26). One of these batteries can be connected directly to the glove. With the help of the extension cable, which is available as an accessory, it is also possible to connect two large batteries or combine one large battery with a standard double battery to one glove. The batteries can then be conveniently stored in a jacket pocket, for example.
- Charge level indicator integrated in the power button
- High-quality goat nappa leather on the palm, 3-layer Hipora® membrane fabric (waterproof, windproof and breathable)
- The extremely cozy high-tech Polartec® Micro Fleece lining keeps the hands warm and dry even with the heating switched off.
- Maximum breathability and sensitivity thanks to the smart mix of materials
- Touchscreen compatible thanks to conductive material on the thumbs and index fingers
- Important for paraglider pilots: long gauntlets with internal drawstring and flat integrated stopper, therefore no danger of line tangles
- Includes battery charger and convenient storage bag
The special features of CHARLY's battery heated gloves
- CHARLY's innovative Li-ion battery heating system - Unlike foil-based heating systems, which can only be applied to the backs of the hands and fingers due to their low flexibility, CHARLY's highly flexible textile heating wires run along the sides of the fingers and over the fingertips. This is essential for warming the whole hand, as it takes into account the body's response to severe cold, which is to direct blood away from the extremities to the center of the body to supply vital organs. The protected positioning of the heating between the fingers also has the advantage of minimizing heat loss to the outside. Combined with its particularly powerful batteries, the CHARLY gloves thus heat noticeably warmer and longer.
- Easy operation, 3 heat levels - The heat level can be selected via the power button with integrated charge level indicator:
red (approx. 60°C), heating time up to 1,75 h; blue (approx. 44°C), heating time up to 2,5 h; green (approx. 22°C), heating time up to 5 h
By connecting a second battery, the heating time can be doubled respectively. - Battery technology at the highest level - With 7,4 V / 2 Ah / 14,8 Wh, CHARLY's high-performance Li-Po double batteries are significantly more powerful than the batteries of other heated gloves. They can be recharged as often as needed and will last for years with proper use and storage. Thanks to their low weight (71 g), their particularly flat design and the flexible connection between the two cells, they are hardly noticeable in the glove. Thus, it is possible to plug in an additional battery in the dedicated second pocket in the gauntlet without any loss of comfort, which extends the heating time to up to 10 hours.
- Ideal for Raynaud's syndrome - The CHARLY glove models "Li-Ion Fire Basic" and "Li-Ion Polarheat Light" are particularly suitable for people suffering from Raynaud's syndrome ("white finger disease") or other circulatory disorders in the fingers, because they are particularly sensitive and therefore very easy to wear in everyday life. The heating wires of the CHARLY gloves run along the fingers, i.e. exactly on the areas of the hand with poor blood circulation.
