Speed Systems for Paragliding Harnesses
A well-matched speed system allows you to make effective use of your paraglider's available speed range. Depending on the harness and intended use, different systems are available – from conventional 2-stage speed systems to 3-stage designs and particularly lightweight options for weight-conscious equipment.
Important selection criteria include weight, construction, pulley routing and compatibility with the harness. A lightweight speed system can be particularly interesting for Hike & Fly and weight-conscious equipment, while other setups may place greater emphasis on comfort and precise operation.
Correct adjustment is equally important. The system should be set up so that the available speed range can be used effectively without putting unnecessary tension on the system. Installation and adjustment should always follow the specifications of the harness and paraglider manufacturers.
